May I not live my Life in vain

Homage to the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha.

May I live with Loving-Kindness, Compassion, Joy and Equanimity.

If I can stop one heart from breaking,

I shall not live in vain.

If I can ease one life from aching,

or cool one pain,

I shall not live in vain.

If I can help one helpless animal,

or put one bird back in its nest,

I shall not live in vain.

If I can help one person see the truths of life,

one person to walk a wholesome life,

I shall not live in vain.

May the compassion of the Buddha continue to inspire me,

May I not live my life in vain.
